Tribal Bubble Up

Hey, reviewing Bubble Up from Tribal today. I’ve just written the review, and I feel like maybe I was a bit hard on it.

The offering really was good quality for a good price. I just thought it was in a very common flavor profile, and there’s stuff widely available—some of it better, some of it cheaper. Even though I didn’t recommend this one, it falls in the sweet spot between quality and price.

Like I mentioned, the main problem I had with it was that it’s a very common flavor profile. But this is actually an exclusive from Exotic Genetix, based on something called Zoap and Deluxe. So, I thought I would look up both of them and see if there’s anything in the lineage that would make this special.

Lineage

One of the parents is called Zoap, and it’s a cross of Rainbow Sherbet with an unknown strain that Seed Finder guesses is Pink Guava. There’s Mendo Purps, Mendo Diesel, OG Kush, and Hash Plant further back in the lineage.

On the other side is Deluxe. I’m not sure who the breeder is—I’m guessing Exotic. So, I go to their website and find something under that name. Assuming Exotic is the breeder, they report Deluxe is a reversal of Gary Poppins, and the mother is just called "O." It’s in their unreleased section. I tried to find out what "O" is, but I think I’ve hit a wall.

Summary

Everything was good with this offering. The tin I bought was overweight, I got 40% more than I paid for—I paid for a 3.5g package and got almost 5g.

I’ll probably never be back to buy this one, but I’ll definitely be back to Tribal. At this price, with the quality I saw, it’s a safe buy.

Visual Description:
Buds are medium size. Nice surface detail and nice coloring. I called it good. There's some room to do more with bud size, but I don't have any disappointment to report at this price point.

Feel Description:
It's on the crispy side. Smokers may not like it, but it was good for my vape.

Smell Description:
Smell is sweet and gassy with a leave into earthy shale. Has a strong start. Presence is notable and well-defined. The profile, although good, is widely available elsewhere and done better elsewhere.

Taste Description:
Taste revolves around soft, cooked earths with a touch of fabric softener. I'd say it loses all the gas in the taste, which makes the character very calm and soothing. Perhaps it's lacking some dimension, but it'd be hard not to call it enjoyable and, dare I say, impressive.

Summary:
Perhaps I missed some nuances in the flavor profile, but to me, there's not much differentiating this from every other Cookie-OG-type mixture available, in which there are many. I'd be lying if I said this wasn't a contender for the space, but I'm gravitating toward the best in the category (G-Wagon or defunct OGEN's Space Flight Superstar) or the cheapest (Pure SunFarms, probably). As far as what brought me here, the breeder exclusivity with the grower, I feel like I didn't find it. Still want to see more breeder exclusives though.

I'd relate good value, but I received more than I paid for. Still, I think a tin of this for just over $20 is a pretty good deal.
