Hey pancakenap here today with another review of a Canadian gummy product. This is Sugar Leaf Strawberry Peach THC gummies, and the producer is Bliss Co for this one.
For these gummy reviews I grabbed one offering from every brand available on the provincial online store (that I haven’t seen yet).
I take photos of everything and a dietician summarizes the ingredients, while noting anything interesting.
From there I make a few observations while consuming the gummy. Finally I note the price and content.
- 11 ingredients
- 3 sweeteners: sugar, glucose, strawberry concentrate
- Natural (peach) flavour
- Artificial color (sunset yellow)
- MCT oil
- preservatives: citric acids, sodium citrate
Average firmness, feels more gelatinous than it does like crystallized sugar.
Tart peach. Tastes a bit like plastic and strawberry on the onset. Doesn’t lose its vinyl tone.
I’d say taste profile is like how new books smell; brings back the memory of the Scholastic book club coming to my elementary school library. Reminds me of Goosebumps books and $8 bookmarks. Would give it 10/10 for nostalgia.
Price was $6.99, or $0.70 per mg of THC.
Did a scan of a bit less than 650 gummy products available in the current legacy market (July 2021). Found the price per mg on average was $0.36 per mg, or just over 50% less of the price of this Sugar Leaf product.
10mg of THC over 4 gummies.
One of the cheaper THC gummies by content.
Looks like there might be an issue with the granulated sugar being absorbed into the gummy.
Dietician reflected poorly on square gummy shape. Square gummies are easy, apparently. No opinion from me, not a hill I want to die on.
I found the tastes a bit off, but wouldn’t relate it bothered me much.
