Carmel High Heat

Carmel High Heat

Hey, thanks for joining me today. We're reviewing Carmel Farms High Heat, bred by Seed Junky Genetics - a cross between Bubba Octane and Seed Junky OG. While I'm not too familiar with Seed Junky's work, I'm a fan of both Bubba Kush and traditional OG cultivars, so I figured this would be up my alley.

The product description lists the aroma and flavor profile as gas, kush, and 7-Up. Initially, I found the 7-Up reference amusing, but it's actually quite accurate. There's a subtle sweetness with lime and citrus notes. Interestingly, the aroma strongly reminds me of a Tuck Shop strain I previously reviewed (Purple Fuel). In fact, if you presented both to me side by side, I'd struggle to distinguish them by smell alone. It has a distinct cologne-like quality - not necessarily a negative, just an observation I have to mention.

Quality-wise, I'd rate this a 5/10. The flower exhibits many visual detractions: proto-seeds, poor trim job, prominent stems, and open bud structure. I even noticed some pistils were still fat and white, suggesting these might be lower buds. While the terpene profile is decent, it's nothing exceptional and certainly doesn't justify the $10/gram price point. If I saw this in a bag of Tuck Shop in the $4/gram range, I'd be satisfied, but at this price, it's poor value. It's not all bad - there's still useable content, but if you're looking to spend $10/gram on cannabis, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Hope you enjoy the review. FYI, I marked this as "old" in my notes, but it's actually about average. My purchasing has slowed down lately, with my last buy being last month, so my six-month averages are getting sparse - might need to step up my game! Thanks for reading.
