Let's take a look at what dried cannabis was purchased throughout the year.
This was the second year of being a medical patient. A licence to grow cannabis was also obtained which may have offset some purchases. Less cannabis was purchased and I also avoided some of the higher cost items that were purchased in 2016.

In 2017, 414 grams of cannabis was purchased, down more than 50% from the previous year (847.5 g of cannabis), which is approximately 1.1 grams per day over the year, down from 2.3 grams per day the previous year.
Average Price Per Gram
Over the total mass purchased I paid an average of $8.34 per gram, which was about 3% lower than the previous year ($8.60 per gram).

A 5 g package of flower ranged from $38.75 to $60, showing a percentage variance of approximately 54.84%.
A 10 g package ranged from $80 to $92.5, with a percentage variance of approximately 15.63%.
Only one full ounce of cannabis was purchased at $150.

A little more than 75% of the packages purchased were five-gram packages, which was the lowest amount typically available from a medical provider. No bulk discount was typically offered. Ten-gram packages were only purchased when the product was in limited supply or available solely in that size.

At this time, there was a waitlist to become a Broken Coast patient, and their cannabis was a bit more expensive. I also used Aurora for the same-day shipping. Tweed was one of the first to supply seeds, so I signed up with them in the later part of the year.

Broken Coast's Sour OG (Ruxton) was the flower I purchased the most in 2017.
Products Purchased By Cultivar Name
After Sour OG, Rare Dankness' Star Killer and DNA's Skywalker OG was also favoured this year.
